Ah, yes, 2020: The year in which I tore my ACL, lost my job, and postponed my wedding twice. Grocery stores, on the other hand, had one fantastic time that was literally for the books.

Lots of us enjoy the concept of socially-distanced shopping (or socially-distanced everything, for that matter). Unfortunately, that trend probably won’t stick—but others, like increased sanitation, just might. And grocery retailers should prepare for a post-COVID world in which consumer expectations are higher than ever before.
