IoT aka WWWoO
You look at the acronym IoT and you think: That looks clean. That looks smart. I like it. And then you find out IoT is an acronym for the “Internet of Things.” I can almost hear the choir of dial-up internet when I see it spelled out. Personally, I like to call it the World Wide Web of Objects, abbreviated to WWWoO, which has a better ring to it while still managing to preserve the same amount of intelligence as IoT.
It’s not as simple as it sounds.
Don’t be fooled: The Internet of Things is complicated—and the “things” are in fact high-tech devices that can operate across the globe. You’re interacting with IoT day-to-day: Alexa, Siri, your home security system, and industries from manufacturing to restaurants are finding ways to leverage the technology in their own ways.
